Job Description
Financial Additions has a great contract-to-hire opportunity for two senior accountants at a prominent downtown energy company. Catered lunch provided during the week and a hybrid work schedule! Great benefit package once hired permanently!
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare journal entries to record the equity earnings for the month.
- Set up & monitor monthly recurring payments.
- Prepare wire transfer payment for cash call requests from foreign branch operations.
- Prepare journal entries; coding adjustment requests.
- Analyze and reconcile accrued liabilities and accounts receivable accounts.
- Record and account the monthly livestock revenues and cost of sales related to Ranch-Agribusiness operations.
- Record the hedge entries and market-to-market settlements.
- Upload and book sales & use tax entries that will be provided by the Tax Department.
- Prepare quarterly net profit interest (NPI) report.
- Allocate and record pension expenses, post-retirement and related benefits to various cost centers and business units.
- Perform accounting functions as assigned including back-up month-end duties assigned to other Senior Accountants.
- Assist in testing general accounting system upgrades, and audit preparation.
Qualifications include:
- 3-5 years progressive experience
- Energy industry experience a plus
- Strong GAAP understanding and analytical accounting skills
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel, MS Word, SAP Accounting Systems
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, CPA preferred
